Richard: “I love cutting hair. I never thought it would one day become a career. Im lucky enough to work beside a team who too is as passionate as me. Ive been cutting hair for around 20 years. I like to dip in to the creative side and sometimes teach. But my favourite place is behind the chair. I enjoy chasing the perfect haircut, I enjoy the process working with my client finding their favourite haircut or haircuts. I believe the consultation is just as important as the haircut”.

Ruffians Audit: Richard’s route into hair was anything but conventional. He began cutting the locks of his school mate’s as a teen with no prior experience and only very basic equipment to his name. As a true perfectionist his keen eye and steely determination meant that he was well on his way to being a great barber long before his formal training even began. Fast forward some twenty years and Richard is widely regarded as one of the country’s best barbers. His work has been published in numerous magazines and seen in film, and he was nominated for British Barber of the Year in 2019. However, it is behind the chair where his main passion lies. Extremely competent in all hair types and styles, Richard is particularly renowned for his clipper work, with immaculate fades and tapers being his speciality.
